ABOUT LULAC...

Founded in 1929, the League of United Latin American Citizens, LULAC is the oldest and most widely respected Latino civil rights organization in the United States.

LULAC was created at a time in our country's history when Latinos were denied basic civil and human rights-facing prejudice and discrimination despite our contributions to America's growth and power.

The founders of LULAC took a proactive approach by creating an organization that empowers its members to create and develop opportunities where they are needed most.

You will be proud of what you can accomplish as a member of LULAC. Join us in creating a better future.

NATIONAL OBJECTIVES...

1.  Bridge and integrate LULAC into the core of our community.

2.  Develop vision and leadership for the Latino community and promote civic responsibilities.

3.  Unify Latinos by promoting education and providing scholarships.

4.  Foster the learning and use of English while preserving the native language and culture.

5.  Promote culture awareness, issues and ideas of special concern to the Latino community.
