LULAC Council #2055 continues to organize a number
of social, political, cultural and educational events in the City of
Salinas and the County of Monterey. Our upcoming events include:
LULAC Black & White Ball - 35th Annual Celebration
The
35th Annual LULAC Black & White Ball is LULAC Council #2055's principal
fundraising event with all proceeds benefiting Latino youth. Since
1973 the LULAC Council #2055 has raised over $250,000.00 in Scholarship
money for graduating seniors in Salinas Union High School Distirct. The 2008 LULAC Black & White Ball will be
held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight at
Sherwood Hall (One Main Street, Salinas,
CA 93902).

Scholarship Awards Ceremony
LULAC Council #2055 held its 2008 Scholarship Awards
Ceremony on Saturday, August 9, 2008 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the
Salinas Union High School District Office 431 W. Alisal Street, Salinas,
CA 93902. Please visit our website in the next couple of months for
the date, time and location of the 2009 Scholarship Awards Ceremony.
2008 Orgullo Latino Dance
The Orgullo
Latino is LULAC Council #2055's annual dance for high school students from Alisal High
School, Everett Alvarez, North Salinas High School and Salinas High
School. The Orgullo Latino draws in over 1200 students at the
Sherwood Community Center for an evening of music and fun for our local
youth and young adults. The 2008 Orgullo Latino was held on Saturday,
June 14, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am, for tickets call Rachel Torres at
